Story setting - Fantasy Asia, sometime in the late middle ages

In the time of martial arts, samurai, Emperors and all the mythical oni, dragons, and spirits a young 26y'old fox named Hóng yuè lives in a backwater mountain village working as a messenger, he is an orphan as his mother died in his early age and father never returned from a war campaign he was enlisted to. His friends a clumsy geco, a stubborn fox archer female, and a proud tiger kung fu warrior.

One day a horde of bandits descend on the village, burning and destroying everything on their way. The elder of the village send out Hóng yuè to the temple in the mountains requesting him to warn the monks, and send a bird with a message to the nearest army camp.

In the chaos Hóng yuè takes his father's armor and sword and tries to cut his way with the help of his friends. But they find the mountain temple abandoned. Or so they think, looking for anyone Hóng yuè find not one, but two dragon younglings. And both of them are not what you would expect from a dragon. And they are a handful of trouble.

Still, they need to send the message...
