0.17 - Upcoming Update Game Design Notes.

Hello All!

This Devlog is a bit of me rambling so here we go.

With the upcoming 2 in 1 update, I want to push the slight boundaries that exist in VN story telling. Not by introducing amazing new concepts or Python codes, or mini games. No, also I'm not that smart. But I want to create Feelings.

I want for anyone who plays the game to feel like when they read their favourite novel, and had all of the memories of the love, hate, adventures just by touching the cover of the book.

That's why the stories will diverge in totally different paths for each of the choices, so make your choices wisely.

The basic mechanic will change - The Main Menu, isn't going to be just a Main Menu. Its a place for You, dear reader to come in and Look and Listen. It's a visual and audio ASMR session that I want to give you chills. With new music and a slideshow of game designs, backgrounds, sketches, doodles, and concepts.

Everything that creates a 'feeling' an atmosphere, and gives the game a character.

Its nothing fancy, its simple coding. But its the idea behind it that counts the most.

Because I find that with many VNs we just play it from update to update, without staying, being a guest. And I want to change this.

Its like opening a Concept Art book for your favourite movie.

It may not be perfect. It may not work entirely as I would like it.

But it's going to be there for you.

As much as this story.

Two questions: what's with the unreal engine experiments and what exactly do you have in mind for whatever you described in this devlog? (Apart from changing main menu)

I'm working on a separate RPG version of the game in Unreal, and with the menu, you just will have to wait and see.

excited!
also you might want to change the itch.io game status to in-development. "Released" might be a little misleading
